Our Community
Forget the ruckus of the city. Northbrook is a safe and beautiful neighborhood whose homes have spacious yards for your family to enjoy! Our community is warm, vibrant, and home to people from diverse backgrounds and hashkafot. We relish the opportunity to support each other through good times and bad, and we find any opportunity to have an event together.
Committed to maintaining a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for its members and guests and to providing the opportunity for spiritual learning and growth, Darchei Noam Glenbrook strives to meet the spiritual, religious, educational, and social needs of its members within the framework and halakha of modern orthodox Judaism. DNG is a community comprised of members who are integral participants in secular society. Members recognize their social and civic responsibilities and are deeply committed to religious tradition, study of Torah, and observance of Shabbat and kashrut laws. The DNG community believes in the love for fellow Jews and is a strong advocate and supporter of the State of Israel.
Northbrook boasts an Architectural Digest-worthy mikvah, inclusive eruv, supermarkets with kosher food and meat, an Israeli-style restaurant, daily minyanim, regular shiurim, Shabbat youth groups, exciting social programming, and weekly sit-down kiddushes. If you’re looking for anything that isn’t available in Northbrook itself, the larger Chicago/Skokie Jewish community is only a twenty minute ride away.
Northbrook has great amenities including a JCC, library (with free classes for kids), park district pools, immaculately kept parks, weekly farmers market, camps, and numerous golf courses. Houses are available all around Darchei Noam Glenbrook starting around $300K.
Job opportunities are available in multiple sectors for businesses based in or around Northbrook (e.g. Walgreens, Allstate, Caterpillar, Underwriters Labs, Crate & Barrel), and the Chicago city center is only a forty-five minute train ride away.
Many have come to visit and then decided to stay. Spend a Shabbat with us and see why!
